WEEK FIVE - WILL EISNER AND THE GRAPHIC NOVEL
WEEK FIVE - WILL EISNER AND THE GRAPHIC NOVEL
I was inspired by Will Eisner who the founder of the term 'Graphic Novel'. I noticed the somber tone to a lot of his work as well as the usual dramatic lighting and how he uses his lines and cross hatching to give the entire page an emotion or rhythm. I also noticed how his characters don't usually need to have a clearly defined face. It's usually the character's body language, shape language, or action that communicates.I hope that my comic page communicates the dark and very realistic tones while also having a dramatic and slightly surreal quality.
