WEEK 12 - WOMEN IN COMICS

This comic page is supposed to abstractly represent the concept of competition among women. Constantly women are being reminded of what is desirable and what is not. Because of this ancient mindset that women need a man's approval to determine their worth, many women I know compete against each other for the higher title. I was inspired by this because I have overheard men on numerous occasions describe their potential girlfriends as 7's or 8's - 10 obviously being the best. They show their friends their girlfriends' best pictures and judge them as if they are competing in some invisible competition. I decided to make this action comic page visually represent the pressure and intensity of the social beauty expectations placed on women.
